Wacky Wednesday

I have been saving this story for today and it has about killed me. I hope you think it's as funny as I do.
Kaysn came up to me Monday night while I was sitting at the computer and very calmly asked if I "had a key to get these off?" I looked up wondering what he could be talking about and realized he had his wrists handcuffed behind his back. I immediately busted out laughing and told him I didn't have a key (which I don't.) He still was pretty calm at this point as he thought they were play cuffs and I could come up with some simple way to remove them. I (while trying to keep a straight face) explained that they were dads handcuffs from working security at the hospital and not even he had the key as he was required to leave his work keys at work and only brought the cuffs home by accident. At this point Kaysn panics and starts crying and tells me it wasn't his fault because Brynlie put them on him, I am sure it required her help, but this made me laugh even more as I tried to imagine my four year old forcing him into the cuffs. I called Blake who wasn't expected home until 9pm and asked him to stop by the hospital on the way home and pick up the key. I quickly realized however that Kaysn wouldn't last another 1 1/2 hours in the cuffs as he was very upset. So I called every neighbor I knew of that did Security or Police work and out of 6 people I got a hold of no-one. As a last resort I loaded Kaysn in the car, (which consisted of me opening the door putting him in and buckling him just like any ordinary prisoner) and we were headed to the Syracuse City Police department in hopes an officer would be there with a key. Luckily I remembered that Justin works Church Security now and would have a key, and he was home....so about an hour later he was 'released' and complaining about his wrists being sore....go figure. He has forbid Kylie and I from telling the story to anyone and begged me not to take his picture with the cuffs on. I told him he'd laugh about it later but he still doesn't think it was very funny, so mabie hold off on the teasing until it's not such a sensitive subject.
One more quick little thing.....Kaysn read the book 'Flat Stanley' at School and mailed a Flat Stanley to Grandma Mills in Burley, Idaho. She sent it back to class with lots of information from her home town and state. She sent a package from which each child in the class got a Large Baking Potato and a Idaho SPUD candy bar. She also sent an Idaho shirt for Kaysn, potato brush, Idaho magnet and photos. He absolutely loved getting the package from Grandma Mills and presenting it to his class. I thought it was a really cute idea.

Ohhh I laughed so hard when I read that. I promise I won't tease him about it, but i am sure I will smirk a little when I see him. I also love the baby chicks. I used to have one when I was in high school. Way cute!

What a great story! I'm sure he'll never live that one down.
